Hi guys,

I'm back again. Sorry, I have been quite busy lately arranging the necessary things and such. But here's another story:

Last Thursday, I went to the city center for the very first time! It was quite exciting, as this was also the first time that I caught a bus! I didn't really know how the bus system works here, so it was very nice that a friend (I met her during my trip to Fremantle) joined me :) We took a stroll and saw London Court, which is a place where all stores are built in British style at the time of Henry VIII. Very cosy but small :P And I also got to see Northbridge, a suburb of Perth known for its cafes, discos and such. A good place to go when you want to go out ;) And I saw Chinatown! Haha, it was the smallest I have ever seen! I bought some Chinese products :)

On Friday, there was this O-day on campus, where many stalls were available for students to become a member of a society (Chinese society, Malaysian, sports clubs, etc). I couldn't find a Dutch society though... :P Haha, it seems that I am one of a kind... when I get to talk to people on the campus, they are very surprised to know that I am from Holland. They don't know anyone who comes from this tiny country... But I didn't become a member of any of these societies. I'll make my own fun :P..

Today I met a Dutch student! He studies geology and is doing research on mining. It was funny to be able to speak Dutch again after some time! We talked about the usual things: accommodation, transport, scholarships, etc. It was nice to share the experience :) After all, we are in the same situation...

Tonight I will try to make dumplings for the first time! Wish you could have tried it to see whether I am a talent or not.. :P:P:P:P Haha, hope it works out since I have only seen my parents preparing them...

And tomorrow my Chinese classes will start! So exciting! And so challenging! Hope it's not too hard for me to learn.. I have already looked through the materials and especially the writing seems complicated :S... After my classes, I will go into town again and then I'll watch Shutter Island with Leonardo DiCaprio. Together with a friend of course :P That will be my first visit to a cinema in Aussie... :D
