Hi guys,
Another story for you to read that I am happy to share! Today I set my alarm clock at 9am, so I would get used to it once my classes start (next week). But I had some trouble getting out of my bed... Well, I eventually managed to do this and got to meet my housemate's friend, she paid a visit to her! I was rather surprised, as it was like 10am and in the Netherlands, we are not used to visitors dropping by early in the morning, right? Anyway, this friend used to live here before and she was very friendly :) Then I set off to the university and found my way easily to the university! :D It was pretty hot in the sun but I tried to hide myself in the shadows. You know, western australia seems to have the highest rate of skin cancer! :S But I am sufficiently protected (I think :P..); I am wearing a hat and using sunscreen, which I got from a very good friend of mine ;).. I got to the campus a bit early, so I could explore it (and the surroundings: there is a shopping mall in the neighbourhood with Chinese supermarkets! :D) and see whether there are any ads posted concerning second hand bikes. Unfortunately, I didn't find any :(.. But I'll work it out! It seems that when you ride a bike, you're also obliged to wear a helmet! Haha, when you don't do that, you'll get fined AU$50! Which is equal to approximately 35 euros! Haha :P Well, you can say that the Netherlands is a country used to 'heaps of' cyclists and you hardly see anyone wearing a helmet :P I looked around on the campus and entered a book store (Co-op :P) where they sell study books. I found my study books and got to meet a fellow student :) He has the appearance of a Malaysian person but he was born in Australia. His English was perfect! :P It was very nice meeting him, he was very helpful. I also got to know his mother, who was there as well :) Very interesting to know how they got in Australia... I'll see him next week, when the classes start :) And then, I went to see my study abroad adviser, but he was too busy to have a cup of tea with me.. But perhaps another time! When I was on the campus, I could get some lunch for free (the students' Guild organized all this). In the afternoon we had an O-quest, which was about exploring the campus, getting to know where certain facilities were located, meeting up with some fellow students and I was allocated a mentor :) It was fun :) We had to do different tasks and the team with the most answers correct could win something (like an iPod :P). We'll know this in two weeks, so I will tell you when I have won something :P And now I am in the science library, for the first time :) It was easy to log in and I didn't encounter any difficulties while using it :) I am more settled than before, but I still have to find out lots of things, like how the bus system works and what's in the city centre.. But I have plenty of time :) Now I am going to walk home! Still a while to go :P....

Wei-Wei Hej, So it's still quite hot there. Hopefully it stays that way when I arrive! Then at least I can experience a bit of summer this year :P. Nice to hear you don't get lost anymore when heading to the uni :). I heard you have to wear a helmet, perhaps of those big hills :P. Have you already are something typical Australian???
Wei-Wei sorry, I mean have you already eaten something typically Australian?
Litje Hey Wei! Haven't seen the replies until now... Sorry! I have tasted some sort of salty spread, which seems to be typical Australian, according to my supervisor. But in fact, I haven't eaten much Australian food here, although Fish and Chips seems to be a popular dish here :P But that's something British I think.
