Seriously, who eats sushi in bed. And then what sounds like rice crackers crossed with peanuts (shells and all). Its loud, bloody loud, smells and its 10.30pm at night. There are three other people in this dorm yet this person proceeds to munch away on her three course dinner. Loudly. As the room is small you can hear each individual chew, the swallowing, the saliva movement and associated eating noises. There is a dining room and communal room areas to eat in, do it there. The joys of different cultures. Some really dont give a damn if the chew with their mouth open, eat offensive smelley food at inappropriate times and places. But seriously, she must be full by now-its beyond a midnight snack and into full blown banquets, she must have a family size pack of cracker peanut things to chow down as it never ends. And after careful analysis I still cant decide if the first chew (complete with wet crunching sounds) or the swallow is worst.
Ok, that rant out of the way. My day was actually pretty good.
I was checking into a hostel for the night near Kings Cross as it was convenient for the next morning. So organised that (including luggage storage etc). I was very kindly provided with a lift to the hostel which was fantastic.
The rest of the day was sightseeing and museums. Buckingham palace, National Portrait Gallery, Hyde park (Speaker corner which had people on their soapbox) and the National British museum. The National museum is pretty incredible. The variety of exhibits in phenomenal including what looks like half of Egypt's monuments. There was also one part called the Enlightenment Room. This contained collections of everything (fossils, birds, marble, greek pottery, art work, gems etc) housed in an old library. The books in the library alone are worth seeing-well the spines and covers as you cant pick them up.
Which brings me to the end of my day which involved the sushi banquent in a hostel room. Ill get my own back-I have to get up early the next morning to go to Bath and Stonehenge. Dont really see the point in being quiet about it.
