After the boat we travelled to Antayla (via Phaselis). Phaselus is an old roman settlement which also happens to be near 'Mt Olympis'. Well, someone pissed Zeus off that day as black clouds rolled in and the mother of all storms commenced. Thunder, lightening and heavy rain followed us to Antayla.
The hotel, along with the town suffered a bit if a power outage. As we had all been on a boat for two days, salty, sweaty and without a shower, we were looking forward to a ling hot shower. My hair was also suffering the effects if oil from the massage I had coupled with salt and I really wanted to wash it. Alas, it was cold showers all around. Ah well, s*** happens and it was a small price to pay in the grand scheme if things. I was also looking forward to sleeping in a bed again.
Antayla is a popular destination for English tourists, has and old town surrounded by a wall into which entry is gained through Hadrian's gate. He really got around did old Hadrian. A wall in Scotland and a gate in Turkey. He also has baths and a villa elsewhere.
I was on a mission to find a meal of Gozleme-like a savory crepe filled with cheese or potato. Success after being caught in the rain and wandering around for sometime. It was found in a little shop down a nondescript sidestreet. And it was bloody good. Thanks Ozman (his real name-no jokes).
A bit of wandering around shops and markets completed the day.
