The weather in Barcelona has turned to s***. Rain, grey skies and more rain. To be annoying though, its still quite warm so the layers if clothes and rain jacket means that when you stop or go inside you are too bloody warm. It was also a good day to take a tour out of the city and see something else. In this case, I am visiting Girona and Figueres.
Girona is a medieval town complete with a very intact jewish quarter and a gothic cathedral. Like many towns of this origin the streets are narrow, windy and cobblestones (providing a nice foot massage as you walk).
The stone used for parts of an arch and walkway were from a quarry that was once part of the sea. There are fossilised seashells all through the blocks of stone.
Girona was mostly a stop for lunch on the way to Figueres (for the Dali museum) but I am glad I saw it.
