I got a 10 dollar return ferry ticket to Sausalito, I thought that was a good deal. The ferry journey was amazing and I saved on paying out on a bay cruise so it was definitely a good deal. I met an English guy, apparently he missed the European feel and was getting tired of the American ways so he escaped to the Mediterranean unknown. I asked where he was from, he said Hackney, I was mega confused! America was probably more hackney then Sausalito?
When I arrived it felt very familiar, I was racking my brains trying to think where have I seen this place before and then it came to me, Croatia. It was full of boutiques, cobbled paths, sail boats and European cafes. The sun was shining and I could feel my skin burning. I nearly rented a bike to fit in but then I realised I am scared of traffic and I would freak out when I put the wheel on the road. I took the tourist information's 2 hour day tour where they give you a leaflet and you follow the directions, well I am not the best at following directions and my brain agreed at this when I got lost. In the end I gave up and just walked the boardwalk following the ocean, I did a lot of sitting and admiring. I felt there wasn't a lot to do there but if you haven't been to Europe then its definitely up your street to experience the European lookalike. I mean I wouldn't mind living here, owning a sail boat and eating in these 30 dollar pizza places but on this day I just stuck to watching the boats and eating a 2 dollar croissant in Starbucks.
