We were all up early today as we had to be gone from Tuscany early to drive to Florence to catch the train to
Rome. We catch the high speed bullet train & we go 260kms per hour & the train just glides through.....when we arrive in Rome it's hot & muggy again & we are greeted by our driver whom drives us around & around on circles ( even he doesn't even know where the hotel is) the streets are so narrow that the Mercedes van just scrapes through the streets that are lined with scooters on the cobblestone roads..straight away we spot The Famous Trevi Fountain , it's an amazing site something that I've wanted to see for years....& how lucky we are to be only 400 metres from it, The Hotel Trevi is up a side street & we check in get the keys & go to our room. The 4 of us are in a quad room & is big I suppose by Rome standards & is very nice & it has air conditioning which is huge bonus.....
We all go waking so far Rome is so exciting . The streets are filled with thousands of tourists as its peak season & we are in the thick of it... Gelato , gelato , gelato you never get sick of seeing these shops or eating them of course.
We make a reservation at one of the restaurants outside for dinner & go shopping to fill in time , again great food & wine & music in the streets , after dinner the boys get a hand drawn picture done of them both, it's a characture ... They are both so excited....today has been a long but an amazing adventure so far.. Tomorrow we go to the Vatacan , now that's exciting....!!!!!!
