After another night of smooth sailing we docked in Malaga early this morning and awoke to a clear sunny day.
We took a taxi directly to the airport, which was about a 15 minute ride through the city. Although we weren't able to spend much time in Malaga, it seems like a very nice city with older historical buildings as well quite modern infrastructure. Both the cruise terminal and the main airport terminal looked quite new.
Our British Airways flight to London was delayed by about an hour. We arrived at London's Gatwick airport at 2:30, an hour behind schedule.
After a long wait to claim our baggage and a short taxi ride from the North Terminal, we arrived at our hotel, a Courtyard Marriott, located within walking distance of the South Terminal, from which we will be leaving on Monday.
After we checked in, Ron and Evelyn contacted Jennifer (daughter of friends of theirs) who lives in England. Turned out that she and husband David and daughter Lulu, had come down for the weekend from where they live about 2 hours away, and were staying at a hotel nearby. We arranged to have dinner with them at our hotel and had a nice visit (see pic). Lulu (almost 2) was especially taken with "Grandpa Ron".
