So we arrived in new orleans earlier than expected and it was surreal coming out the station to find palm trees and really warm weather. The taxi driver was hilarious and when we got to the hostel we were pleasantly surprised. The inside and outside is kooky as anything and it has a really welcoming laidback feel. The decoration is really colourful and margi gras related and its the most interesting hostel ive been to. Today we got up at 7 and made our way down the famous canal st.. We got a streetcar (tram) to the French Quarter and the famous Bourbon st. I love the french quarter just like i thought i would with its endless narrow streets lined with low rise buildings with iron detailing balconies and lots of plants, very quant and meditrerrean feeling. We then went to the Garden Disctrict, an area of classic southern mansions all of varying but equally gorgoues architecture. I took a ton of photos and thought "my mum would love this place'. We then went back to the canal street and went down to the river, the mississippi of course! we took a ferry across it to get a good view of the whole city and bridge. We then moseyed around the riverwalk and headed back up to india house with our burger king (its cheap!). We may walking alot but my tummys getting huge!
Much Love xxxxx
