Today, we took the opportunity to explore Melbourne.
We started off in the Melbourne Museum, which was well worth the $12 entrance fee. The Aboriginal gallery was fascinating and informative, we then wandered through the forest gallery through to the Melbourne gallery, which was an interesting look at the history of Melbourne.
After a lunch of pork and rice at a little Japanese restaurant, we hopped onto a tram before wandering along the South Bank. We walked through a massive casino, which felt more like a shopping centre. It's definitely designed to attract as many punters as possible, with separate rooms for the high rollers. We declined to participate this time.
Or next stop was the amazingly beautiful Botanic Gardens, where we stopped for an ice cream by the lake, taking the opportunity to watch mynah birds, gulls and a moorhen fighting for scraps.
Then we parted company as my colleague borrowed a bike for a tour of the city and I headed back to the Rod Laver Arena for tonight's match between Djokovic and Raonic.
Djokovic never looked troubled. After winning a tight first set on a tie break, he was fully in control as Raonic couldn't find an answer.
We were then treated to an entertaining mixed doubles match between Hlavackova and Peva against Hingis and Paes. The latter pairing ending up as comfortable victors.
