Well after a stressful night of packing random items of clothes which would shock trinny & susanna if worn together Jo & I headed to the airport...who knew you had to apply for a visa online before you could check in? So it was off to the Internet cafe before checking in with only minutes to spare. We then headed straight for the gate, boarded our double decker plane and made ourselves comfy while we waited an hour for them to find a pilot....and then they needed an engineer to unlock a cupboard they'd lost the keys for! Anyway 2 hours later we finally took off.

We landed in san fran about 3, dumped our stuff at the hotel & went for a wander before it got dark. We're staying in the holiday inn express at fishermans wharf. The hotel is v nice with free wifi & free buffer breakfast which has more choice than the ones in the uk. We're 2mins from the wharf - the touristy harbour area with lots of littles bars & restaurants, gift shops which wouldn't be out of place in Blackpool only with a great view of Alcatraz & the golden gate bridge.

We had a glass of wine as we unpacked & then headed out to a little italian place for an overpriced salad before heading to bed. Tomorrow - hop on hope off bus tour
