Jo and I started our day at Pinks Hotdogs - they're world famous (apparently) they were certainly quite nice & is a picture of Simon Cowell inside so not sure if thats enough to make them famous? We then boarded our hop on hop off bus again & headed to tour the downtown area of LA, driving through Korea town, Westlake, Chinatown & the fashion district. This part of LA predates Hollywood & was once a fashionable district, now all the once beautiful art deco theatres seem decrepit &derelict, sandwiched between cheap clothes stores, quite depressing really
After learning some more out of date movie trivia, getting our groove on to 60s rock n roil & hearing about all the dif kinds of palm tree in LA from our fake British narrator (I mean who in Britain would describe dim sum as "delightful @ decadent" it was time to hit the shops on rodeo drive! I actually managed to find a top I could afford :-) and two pairs of designer sunglasses (1 prada, 1 tiffany) that were a bit of a bargain so treated myself to those too :-) and Jo bought some sunglasses as well.
It was then off to the cheesecake factory for dinner, mammoth portion of pasta (me) & salad (Jo - shes so good!) before we shared a huge slice of blueberry & White chocolate cheesecake (Jos not that good afterall) all washed down with a bottle of bubbles :-)
We headed back to our hotel & were relieved the door had been fixed so we could get into our room - we just couldn't get out again! Fortunately the lock would work from the outside so still no need for the fire department, just a change of room!
