We had a bit of a lie in this morning (must have been the late night) but left the hotel about midday. Seeing the area in daylight (again, amazing sunshine - I love California!) we soon realised you could see the Hollywood sign from the corner of the street! We went to another Mexican café for a mammoth breakfast (we only ordered eggs but was a full mean which arrived!) and headed off to find a hop on hop off bus tour. We're staying on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood, about 300yrds from Paramount Studios which are huge! We picked up the bus there & drove the few stops to Hollywood Boulevard. This is where the stars on the street are. And where the American Eagle store is J so after some shopping we got back on the bus to take in some more sights. The bus took us along to Beverley Hills & Rodeo Drive, giving us out of date movie trivia as we went (and bizarrely narrated in a fake British accent - v strange). We went through the Business District and down the coast to Santa Monica beach (where Baywatch was filmed) where we got off to drink hot choc on the pier while watching the sun set. It was then back on the bus to head back through the city. It was a single decker bus which allowed some random business man in the car alongside us to whind down his window and proposition us at the lights on Beverley Boulevard, just up from the Beverley Wiltshire - just like in pretty woman - hilariously strange! (I have to point out Jo & I are not hookers, but quite often seem to attract weirdos wherever we go)
We got back to the hotel about 8. Tonight was going to be our wild night out in LA, but after a busy day of sightseeing we were once again exhausted so ate more Mexican food and tried to have an early night……
We got back to the hotel & found the lock on our door wouldn't recognise our plastic key card. After 3 trips to reception the guy came up & concluded it was broken. After battling it with a crow bar & hammer he still couldn't open the door. So he called the fire brigade to break it down! Only they were to busy rescuing a cat from a tree to come to our rescue so the manager called a mate to climb up a ladder to our room & in through a window to let us in from the inside!
Finally it was bedtime. Despite the antics we've decided to stay in LA an extra night so we can have a chilled day before driving down to San Diego for xmas - slight change to our original plans but as nothing about this trip was really planned its not surprising

Verity make sure you girls pop across to TJ when you get to San Diego - as Jess will tell you - is an eye opener ; )
