Day 2 in Sydney started with torrential rain - I could have cried! Instead we got on with things: Filled up on a monsterous breakfast at the hotel (Mark had at least 3 courses including full English, pancakes and cereal) and went to visit the aquarium in Darling Harbour. Got the old "cag in a bag" out (which by the way is great Cath - thanks so much!) and braved the long(ish) walk to the harbour from the hotel. The aquarium was really well put together, and so we managed to see duck billed platypus, sharks and a croc! The shark in particular seemed to like Mark (see photos) it must be something to do with his toothy grin! When we emerged from the aquarium, fighting our way through half of sydney (who had also decided it was a good wet weather past time) we did a spot of souvenir shopping (see photos - be warned they are winging their way to you soon!) and then FINALLY the sun came out! What a difference that made! We spent the remainder of the afternoon strolling though Hyde Park, visiting the Anzac memorial, and back through the botanical gardens, before visiting the rooftop pool and jacuzzi. We are just about to get a budget spot of dinner and then back to upload some of the photos - watch this space!
