Hayley & Holly On Tour 2006
Day 6- our last day in Sinapore.
The day got off to a fantastic start- we slept in until 10am (bar being awoken bar another resident telling his tale of woe about his ex-girlfriend at 4am- she had a lcuky escape me thinks) and decided that we would have a last look at the sites we were yet to see and a final wander around the city.
We started the day off in City Hall and looked at the War Memorial, Cenotaph, Parliament Buildings and the Esplande- all very beautiful buildings full of history (you gotta love the history and the inner geek!) Unfortunalty is was raining, but still boiling hot, so walking around was a little on the soggy side of things and slightly perilious because as the place is so clean the pavements are a touch on the slippy side.
We then headed to the famous Raffles Hotel- the place is like a mini town within itself- it has everything from the hotel itself to bars, shops and even a hairdressers- the toilets were quite swanky as well! We headed to the Long Bar to reward ourselves for such a successful week by having a Singapore Sling- we were the tourist cliche and loved it!! The bar was really cool because to accompany your drink you are given a big bowl of monkey nuts to eat as you wish and when you finish with the shell you are expected to throw it on the floor. You felt really naughty but when in Rome- and its probably the only place in Singapore you can litter without getting fined!! We really enjoyed it in there and have the photos of us with our cocktails. Yummy!
We are presently preparing ourselves for our early morning rise at 5am. We are all packed (we did it without any parental help this time- how grown up are we!!) and have tickets at the ready!
We have had a lovely time in Singapore, it has kicked off our trip fantastically and we would recommend it to a friend.
We shall bid you farewell now- until Vietnam.
