Hayley & Holly On Tour 2006
Day 2- it is currently just after 9 here and decided this would be the perfect time to update you all and an excuse to enjoy the air con in the hostel! Today has been rather busy, lots of walking and geekey faces a plenty at all the sights. We started the day by tackling the MRT- their version of the tube- its exceptinally clean and you can get fined for just about doing anything down there- eating and drinking occurs a $500 fine!!! After this challenge was completed we made our way to the Harbour Front to climb up Mount Faber- decided against the climb afer nearly melting in the heat during the walk and got the cable car up. This is a little scary, the cars took off rather quickly for our liking as they just headed towards a very steep drop, once up the top we took in the many views then decided to walk down, unfortunalty we may have walked down the wrong side and then had to re-walk the mount up the road and catch the cable car down!! After this we made our way to Clarke\'s Quay and had a walk down the river, very pretty and lots of brightly coloured buildings and a lovely fountain!! We decided we are going to go and have a meal down there towards the end of the week. After this we caught the MRT back (we just love to ride that rail!) and headed out for dinner, thought we would sample some local food, so went down to a food hall we discovered and Hayley had crispy noodles, with a king prawn, chicken and what she belived to be cucmuber whilst i had special rice with prawns and i think duck all washed down with a giant bottle of Tiger beer- very nice!!! It has been a very fun day, though our map reading skills need a little polishing, kept heading in the wrong direction to what we thought, we have decided this is a good thing though because it enables us to take in more of the city!!
All in all it has been a successful day- tomorrow we are off to visit the monkeys, though Hayley saw one yesterday helping some men with pulling things off a tree!!
We shall check in again soon. Thanks for the message board notes- keep them coming!!
Love you all lots
Holly and Hayley
