Hi Everyone,

Just a quick blog to let you know what we have been up to in Perth. Arrived here late on Friday morning after catching a flight from Alice Springs at 8.30am. The flight over the outback was amazing, flew right over Uluru, fantastic you actually can appreciate the scale of it and the fact that it is the huge structure simple in the middle of nowhere. Stepped off the plane in Perth and it felt positively cold, at least 10oC cooler to what we have been used too! But still lovely and sunny.

Caught a taxi to our hostel and had a very informative taxi driver who was filling us in on Perth. Spent the rest of the day basically trying to find some accommodation for the next few nights - impossible we must have rung over 20 places, in and out of the city and the answer was the same, 'no sorry fully booked try in the morning'! So you can imgaine we weren't too pleased!

It wasn't all bad on Friday though because we got a job! Walked into this agency after trying serveral others and having no luck and the women behind the desk basically jumped on us and said 'you 3 looking for a job together' to which we replied 'yes' and that was that. Our job is in Dalwallinu, 3 hours north east of Perth on the Great Northern Highway. We are going to be working night shifts in the Dalwallinu Motel/Hotel, a counrty pub, doing waitressing and bar work. Rose and I are going to be staying there for 6 weeks and Lyd just 2 weeks. Its sure going to be an experience. We leave on Thursday and start work on Monday because there are 2 other girls there at the moment who are leaving on Sunday. We shall see!

Saturday we sorted out our accommodation for the rest of the time in Perth, which took basically all morning and then we went to explore the CBD and sit by the river in the afternoon.

Sunday we went to Freemantle, a suburb half an hour from the CBD. Had a very nice hippy vibe to it. Spent the day wandering around the market, watching street performers, having lunch in a Mexican and sunbathing on the beach. Very relaxed day.

Monday we went SHOPPING - to get a few bits and pieces for work.

Tuesday we spent the day in Kings Park drinking wine with Laura (a friend from the Sydney to Melbourne). The park is really nice it overlooks the city with awesome vies of the river. Late afternoon we came back into town and had a few drinks in Northbridge, ended up at a salsa night because everything else was shut!

Today we are just going to back and get sorted for our great adventure tomorrow. Wish us luck.
