Hi
Left the boys and 18 Holilond Way at 6.15am and started on the next leg of our journey with Planet Perth, a 10 day trip from Perth to Broome.
Day 1
Met the rest of our group and the tour guide at Wellington bus station in Perth, We felt sad to be leaving Perth after spending 6 weeks there we had really got to know the place and made some lifetime friends, but it was time to move on as that's what travelling is all about. By 7.30am we were on our way and getting to know our new friends.
First stop was Nambung National Park to explore the Pinnacles Desert. The Pinnacles are thousands of limestone pillars up to 4m tall rising from the sand dunes. They are quite impressive features and you can take some awesome shots.
From the Pinnacles we hit Hangover Bay for some lunch, it was a shame we hadn't gone out the night before. After lunch it was time to hit the dunes for some sandboarding! It was so fun. Rose didn't get on to well on her first go but soon got the hand of it. There were also some near misses with a tree but all worked out well and everyone really enjoyed it.
Then it was time to continue the drive up along the Batavia Coast and through Geralton. We stopped at a service station just as the sun was setting and experienced our first proper WA sunset - it was beautiful, so orange.
We stayed overnight in a cute little B&B, right on the waters edge in Horrocks. Dinner was chicken stir fry, of corse cooked on the barbie.
And that was Day 1.
