Part 2: Well after the great adventure day on Peninsula Valdes we was itching to do something fun the day after also. We heard there was some nice landscapes which we could reach by taxi or bicycle further down the coast from Puerto Madryn. 17km away (10miles) there is a lovely reservation called Punto Lomo which held a colony of seals. We decided to use the day to explore this. We rented some bikes and cycled the 10 miles of sand and gravel paths and eventually reached the seals. It took us around two hours to get there due to not being able to cycle very fast as we was slipping and sliding on the bikes over the sand. It was good fun and considering we hadnt been on a bike for a good number of years, our mini off road adventure was fairly challenging! Tucked away in a little cove a hundred or so seals where sunbathing and splashing about in the water; Fabulous to watch. After spending an hour or so and taking 80+ photos later we set off again to cycle the 10 miles back! Patagonia we thought was meant to be cooler; the sun soared and by the time we finally arrived back into the town we was caked from head to toe in dirt from the dry sandy roads and also a little burnt as it easily hit 30degrees! As it was Valentines day we decided to cook a nice meal in the hostel so we ventured to the shops again for some nice steak and fizzy wine! Today we spent the morning on the peer while Jonathan tried to fish. Not very successful and gave up after an hour or so finally catching a fish the size of a minnow! This is our favourite town so far and we highly recommend it. It has something for everyone and is truly beautiful. Tonight we are heading to El Calafate, our very last town in Argentina before crossing into Chile. Till next time, Hayls and Jonathan x
