Hello Everyone! Well the last few days in England have been excellent. My mum and dad brought us to Gatwick on Wednesday and we have had a great time spending some time with them both and my sister, and completing our errands before flying away today! We managed to spend Thursday in London, visiting the Vietnam embassy for our visa and sorting out some bank errands. Our first stroke of luck: We had to catch the train into London and just as we were to set off we discovered that the Victoria train station had been shut down. Luckily it opened just in time for our train! Phew! We were done by midday which then allowed us to visit the Queen at Buckingham palace, visit Downing street and the Royal Guards, Trafalgar square and the Tower. Probably a good job we did this then as the snow hit the day after. After spending a day mooching about in Crawley we then headed off to Heathrow airport hotel to relax before our flight to Rome and onwards to Rio today. We got up this morning to check if our flight was still scheduled for 16:30 today (Sunday 20th). Everything was still ok even though it had resumed snowing and the sky was grey and thick with cloud. We went for breakfast and on our return we checked again.. Cancelled!! Anyway we had to check out by midday so we caught the 11:45 bus to the airport to speak to the airline as we was due to catch our connecting flight to Rio from Rome so we had to be there. As soon as we arrived they told us they had sent us details about an earlier flight departing at 11:50 by email. Hmm no they hadn't! They rang through and luckily we was accepted onto the flight: our second stroke of luck! After a mad dash through the airport, and being stopped at security (because Jonathan packed all his toiletries in his hand luggage, doh!) at approx 12:45 we was sat on the plane! Phew! Now in Rome awaiting our connecting flight to Rio! I'm hoping all of this good luck will continue and it is a positive sign our trip is meant to be! Till next time... Hayls and Jonathan x
