What an awsome day! I've had possibly the best day of my entire life today, i've been black water rafting and skydiving all in one day! We started off at 7.45am this morning by heading out towards the caves, i was really nervous and scared of the tight spaces and darkness so i'd hardly got much sleep the night before. When we got the the rafting centre we all had to squeeze into wet wetsuits which was entertaining and very difficult so unfortunatly theres no pictures of that particular outfit! To get into the cave we had to abseil in the dark for over 100 feet so that was pretty s*** scary! Once in the cave we then had to go on a zip wire down further into the cave, again in the pitch black hoping someone at the bottom would catch you before you hit the cave wall! It was really pretty once in the cave because of all the glow worms, they looked like tiny little green l.e.d lights. The eels wern't so pretty though when they brushed past your legs! We did alot of climbing and slipping round in the caves, it was freezing! Then the biggest challenge for me was getting out of the cave. To get out we had to crawl through a really tight damp dark space in the cave until we reached a waterfall. Then we had to rock climb up the waterfall with the freezing water coming down on us, then do it all again for another waterfall! I got such a sence of achievement doing it though, im sure id have no problem doing it now! Then we were told that we would be doing out skydive that afternoon. So after 5 hours down a cold cave we headed to the skydiving site. i Was really exited but Holly was really scared. Once we got into our jump suits we were introduced to our tandem divers (the guys in control of the paracute!!) then we were in the plane! The instructors were really cool making jokes and always taking pictures on the way up. I laughed all the way up in the plane but poor Hol looked terrified! Before we knew it we were at 15000 feet and the doors had opened and one by one the people in front of us were disapering from sight! I cant explain the feeling i had when i dropped out of the plane. I don't think i drew breath for about 25 seconds! Aparantly thats pretty common though as your brain is budy trying to figure out why you have thrown yourself out of a plane. But the freefall was amazing, we were spinning round and upside down and everything. I look like wallace out of wallace and gromit on my pics and dvd because the wind is so strong it blows out your cheeks! After about 1minute of freefalling the paracute comes out and you slow right down. Thats when you can fully appriciate the views you have from up there, its amazing! Amos my tandem guy even let me steer the paracute and we went spinning down towards the ground. To do that for a job must be wicked! When i landed Holly was already there with a big grin on her face, she'd really loved it in the end! We are both so glad we did it and would reccomend it to anyone! I know if i can afford to do it again i definatly would without hesitation! We're in taupo now and are going on an eight hour treck over the mountains tomorrow so im going to be knackered by the end of the week! Its halloween tomorrow so were dressing up as pirates! It's such a hard life!!! Hehe
