Hi everyone, we are in Brisbane now having just spen 3 days camping on Fraser Island. We finally got to go after the storm cleared up and it was definitely worth the wait! Our group was wicked - 6 irish lads, an english guy and another really cool english girl and the of 10 of us literally packed a shed load of booze into a 4WD, took our map and headed off to the island without a guide. It was by far the best time we've had so far - the weather was great, we went swimming in 2 gorgeous freshwater lakes and drove around the island in 4WD to see the other sites. Camping was a bit of an adventure, Jo and I didnt shower for 3 days and we only saw a real toilet once, but we had food, beer, vodka, goon (dodgy australian wine which comes in 4 litre bags) and music so all was good. There were a fair share of drinking games and drunken antics, and we even got invaded by wild Dingos! Jo and I have new found love for the Irish - funniest bunch of people we've met on the trip.

We got back yesterday and were really sad to leave the group but now we are super busy trying to get down the road to Sydney by Monday. The van is holding up very nicely. He's only been really naughty once when Jo drove us straight into a sand pit for some wheelspinning action, we were on the side of the road digging on our hands and knees looking like a right pair of bimbos until some very helpful guys towed us out! Silly us.

Tonight we are going to see what Brisbane has to offer, then we are off to Byron Bay for Saturday night which should be good fun. Hope all is well with you. H & J x
