Our first anniversary!! The traditional gift is 'paper' so Al gave me a bunch of home-made vouchers for massages, carwash etc etc. Very nice. And our son gave us a great present, he only woke once!! (of course, I woke heaps…)

Mum and I took Harper for a walk in the pink stroller, it seems strange, like we are inside a building site. There are thousands of construction workers and cranes. We had a look at the amazing xmas decorations in the Sheraton and Ritz-Carlton. After the walk, we went for a drive to the supermarket at the Marina and had a coffee.

In the afternoon, Mum, Harper and I went to the Ibn Battalu mall and had a look at some of the shops before my hair appointment. I found two beautiful dresses, one of which I plan to buy for a wedding in March. Then Mum and Harps did some food shopping while I had my hair done for our anniversary dinner at Pierchic.

Before dinner, we walked around the Souk Madinat Jumeriah but didn't do any shopping. Then we walked out to Pierchic which was by far the best restaurant we have been to. It is out on a pier next to the Burj al Arab and has one of the most expensive views in the world. The food was brilliant, as was the service. It was the perfect anniversary dinner.

Baby: He didn't have a very big nap today, just a couple of snoozes. He slept well while we were out, woke just before we got home.

Nappies: We're using half-half now which is much better than full-time sposies!
