The next day we set off to Rainbow Beach reunited with our good friends Aron and Steve.
We arrived at our hostel who were advertising a buy one night get one night free offer. We immediately liked the look of this sunny beach town (which consisted of one row of shops and an amazing beach) and decided to stay an extra night. Our hostel was incredibly comfy with huge corner sofa's and a massive tv!
That night we had a small Oz Experience night out with cheap food and a few games of pool (which i did not take part in on account of my lack of hand eye coordination).
The next morning we awoke very early to go feed some wild dolphins. It was the biggest waste of money EVER. At first the idiotic captain was trying to force us all to come have pictures at the helm whilst wearing a pirates outfit. I politely refused to embarrass myself. Then once we arrived we realised that it wasn't just us feeding the dolpins but about a hundred other people. All who had not paid for a boat but just drove over from Rainbow beach - we were conned. The only saving grace was seeing dolphins and feeding them. Oh no! One sad looking sleepy dolphin showed up and we had to pay extra to feed it but we were not allowed to touch the dolphin or stay longer than 30 seconds.
Once back at the hostel we decided to head down to the beach for some r and r. The weather was beautiful.
That evening we set off to climb a trek to see the sand dunes that look over the East Coast of Australia and watch the sunset. On our last evening in Rainbow Beach, Steve kindly cooked a curry for us all :) and following that Kim and I stretched out on the sofa to watch Mamma Mia.
