okayyy so busy busy day and i am pleased to say that i have made it to my training ranch where i will stay for the next week =) everyone here is really friendly and we had a big dinner with everyone sitting on the veranda watching the sunset over the pool and the outabck with the sounded of kookaburas and cows in the background... bliss!!
its nice to be finally doing something however as the whole time spent in rainbow beach we ended up cloud watching and trying to judge if it was going to rain or not. even though the days were overcast a few beers in the hostel bar sure made up for the rubbishy days and i have discovered that i like beer.. but only when it has a lot of lime in it. who knows, maybe i will achieve my goal of liking beer by the time i come home afterall =)
so anyways on saturday night we had all had enough of being stuck in rainbow beach so we took a walk to the carlo sandblow which was this huge expance of sand on top a hill overlooking the beach. the site was genuinely unreal and pictures will never describe just how spectacular the view was. saturday night was live band night in the hostel so we got a chance to talk to a lot of the locals and wow there are some wierd people living in rainbow beach!!!! and whoever said aussies are friendly..lied! haha i was teased mercilessly for being a pommie!
by sunday morning we needed to get out of the resort so all 4 of us took a boat trip to tin can bay where they feed wild dolphins every morning so we all stood in the water and the dolphin came within a foot of us literally.. it was amazing, however im not sure how i feel about the fact that they feed this dolphin every day when it should be out fending entirely for itself.. or is that just a biologists point of view?! =/ anywasy it was a fun morning out and even the rain couldnt put that much of a downer on a day at the beach chilling with the locals.
omg most embarrassing moment so far.. having just completed my first load of washing and leaving it ona washing line in the middle of the room ( having thought it would be just girls in our dorm) in walks some guy who was sharing our room! 1 guy and 6 girls.. i think he was happy!!
anywayss more exciting stuff happened today when we came to the training ranch based near Goomeri in the aussie countryside. starting with seeing a deadly snake slithering outside the restaurant window causing us all to jump up and sun outside in the hope of a picture.. unfortunately it moved wayy to fast! after completing all the paper work and boring stuff it was time toget kitted upin our new boots, jeans and checkered shirts and head out for some motobiking fun... leading to an afternoon of motorbiking fun involving a steep track uphill and a rut which caused the bike to run away from me and i ended up with my feet above my head laughing so hard it was ridiculous! it always happens to me!!!! haha.
tomorrow we get to go riding on a nearby farm which should be really good and now i just have to hope for job offers to come flooding in so that i know where i will be next week!
keep you all updated xxx
