Hi all, now in Cambodia (Siem Reap). Had a very interesting journey getting from 4000 islands. The border crossing itself was fine with only my flip flop breaking. However the 18 hour journey was extremely tiring. We were meant to arrive at 9:30pm but didn't make it to our hotel until 2:30am. We had booked a hotel beforehand and managed to get a really good price so splashed on a little luxury. Believe me the cool face cloth and refreshing drink were well worth the $18, plus there's a bath. Small things in life please.
Have spent 3 days in total visiting the Angkor temples. Its difficult to describe just how breathtaking the temples are, especially the stone carvings. Plus the fact that these temples are located over such a vast difference. Our favourites were Bayon (temple with faces) and Ta Prohm (location of tomb raider movie). Yesterday we had an enjoyable day pretending to be Lara Croft climbing gigantic staircases without breaking a sweat!!! We left the best till last and woke at sunrise this morning to visit the mighty Angkor Wat. It was well worth the early morning though our tuk tuk (motorbike pulling a trailer) drive might think otherwise. He was happily swinging away in hammock asleep at 5 this morning when we woke him!
Love to all x x
