Hey guys since the last post we've spent time in Kampot famous for growing high quality pepper. It was really amazing going out to a plantation and seeing how the pepper was grown. Also quizzed it one night though came second to last, say no more!
After staying in a right dive (converted garage) where we could hear rats in the ceiling we moved to the beautiful Ganesha eco resort. We stayed in an amazing tribal hut, made of bamboo on stilts. It had 2 balconies, 1 for sunrise and the other facing the rice fields and mountains for sunset. I went out on a boat tour to the mangroves and spent a relaxing couple of hours swimming in the river.
Food at Ganesha was amazing and the French owners were very hospitable. We also really enjoyed drinking fresh passion fruit at every opportunity. Best of all it was really nice to take a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle and find our inner peace (if only for a short time).
Also spent a couple of days at the beach though after major burnage on the first day we spent the following 2 in the shade so the UNO cards got a good work out. Beach was soooo beautiful for swimming but unfortunately had a lot of litter from the other side of the bay. Nothing quite beats a Fijian beach!!
We visited Phnom penh (capital) twice, the first time it was a national holiday so many Cambodians had left the city. The kings father had passed away so there was mass congregations of people showing their respects. 2nd time we visited the city was buzzing, we had a trip to a shopping mall where we went to the cinema. Best of all we managed to find an international supermarket, I was in heaven an could have wondered the isles for hours.
In the shopping mall, came across the appliance section, I was in Kenwood heaven, it seems work is never far from my mind!
Now in Vietnam, will update soon H x
