After a s*** cold shower and cold night got packed up and went into the city, had visit to leather and gold factory and talk about making leather things and how to tell genuine leather from fake stuff. In this shop could have brought lots of lovely things Lisa only managed to buy a ring. (only a puzzle ring!! Which she undid but can't make it up again)
Had an hour walking tour through the city of Florence and main sites including statues / buildings and where historic things are or happened which was very knowledgeable and learnt a few things about Florence which is named after Florence = Flower + France
After tour we managed to get lost with minutes to spare until we needed to be back on the bus so was getting stressed but pleased to see others from our tour and managed to get back to the bus in time to head to Rome. Scenery less hilly but starting to get browner and less trees around, and more farming. After getting in trailer park accommodation, this was not the greatest accommodation we have had but it was good to actually have a double bed.
We went out for a walk through Rome at night. Seen the Coloseum, Pantheon, Piazza Novona, Forum, Trevi Fountain (made a wish), TiberRiver, Castle St Angelo, Spanish Steps and various other statues (because there are heaps around). The square where we had tea with a group, we all sat outside where traffic was made right beside us, Lisa tried the Italian lasagne which was really scrumptious, have fallen in love with the Italian food but not there traffic, as was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time, as there was no curbing it was all road. Had local entertainment with a local man trying to park his car literally in a space that he his car did not fit in.
Coloseum was pretty spectacular at night!!
