Left French Riveria for Italy, we were staying pretty close to the boarder so didn't take long to cross it, there was no indication though that we had seen that we were in a new country. Different scenery to France
Basically drove all the way along the coast on a one way highway, about 100 metres in the air over valleys, driving through the hills as they come up, very mountainous covered with trees through 56 tunnels. Best sleep ever on the bus couldn't believe we were so tired even though we had an earlier night.
Stopped for lunch and had first real pizza, margarita, very yummy and massive slices which would be half a New Zealand pizza at least!!
First experience of their bathrooms! Lower toilet and no seat!!
Went to Pisa and seen Leaning Tower does not look on a lean when very close to it (if you dropped a coin from the top it would land 4m form the base of it) and the church built for Mussolini (I think), there were heaps of gypsies around and its amazing that the tower has not yet fallen over! Pisa used to be a navel base for Italians but water has moved 10km away from city now!
Had our very first gelato today yummy!! Two flavours strawberry and sort of cookies and cream also did some bargaining with gypsies today that we are starting to become pro's at it!!
After arriving at camp went to viewing spot over city for group photo. Went out for a Tuscan feast - Italian meal which contained 5 courses of entrees, pasta, main with meat and potato, and dessert. After meal went out to karaoke bar for about an hour then left to sleep! Note: Cocktails here were very strong!! The boy's had a tower which was massive!! Some of the girl's did Karaoke but for us were not in the mood was very full from tea! The Italian men are very sleazy!!
