To get to Nicaragua we had to take a shuttle. So, we packed up our stuff and met the shuttle at the front of our condo gate. We rode a dull and boring ride for an hour to Liberia (a city in Costa Rica). We all thought we would be driving one bus to get to Nicaragua, but apparently we had to take more than that. The bus driver dropped us off in Liberia, he unpacked our stuff and we annoyingly had to wait for our next bus to get there. We thought we would be in a private shuttle but in the next bus we drove with a few people. When we got to the border of Nicaragua we did all the long, boring process of paying for our entrance fees, and who knows what they were doing with our passports, I wasn't really paying attention. While waiting in the long, long endless line (it seemed like that to me then, because at borders, minutes always seem like long hours). Atleast, after some time we were in boredom land, some Nicaraguan girls and two boys started to do some traditional dancing in a courtyard outside, my brothers and I watched from the window. We then had to walk a really long distance with all of our luggage over the border. After all the border stuff was finally finished, we got back in the new bus and road to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. That city name is really long right? I said "new bus" because again we unexpectedly had to change buses again. In the bus, there were some young adults from Australia. I talked to them for awhile. After like an hours drive, the driver dropped them off at the place they were staying. We drove about ten more minutes then finally reached our building. We unloaded our luggage, then went into the entrance of the condo building. Unluckily, we had to wait for the property manager of our condo to come and give us the keys. There was a man in the building who called the lady who would hand over the keys to the house for us. The lady came after what seemed like forever. The man who had called the lady for us helped us bring our lugguge up, we tipped him, said thank you, then checked out our house for the next two days. Taking the luggage up was not easy, even if you were not holding anything it was incredibly tiring. There were elevators, but they were not working at all when we were there, so we had to go up three long flights of stairs. The lady gave us a tour of the condo and went over the rules. The condo was beautiful. It had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a dining area, a nice kitchen, and an amazing patio outside with an incredible view of the shimmering ocean. It was awesome! I thought Nicaragua would be full of poor little towns, not a huge city like we were in now.
