Ojo de Agua is a natural pool of water on Ometepe Island. We went to Ojo de agua on the 28th of December. To get there we took a truck. We met the manager of our hostel at the front of our farm hostel, and he took us to Ojo de Agua. We got to ride in the back of the truck all the way there, it was really fun! We stopped to get some snacks from the grocery store called Pali. I ran into the grocery store with mom and we got apples, bananas, and candy canes. When our shopping was done we got back in the car and drove to Ojo de Agua. When we got there, we paid and used the bathroom which was up like a million stairs. The water was cold at first but after awhile you get used to it. On the bottom of the pool there were rocks and tons of leaves. I liked the pool, it was huge and could get really deep. Luckily, there was no fish in the pool, I'm afraid of swimming with fish, so it was nice not worrying about it. There was a fun tight rope walking thing that you could walk on above the water, that was really fun! Also, they had a run and jump diving board, even better you could grab onto a rope swing and swing forward into the pool. Me and Levi jumped off the diving board, it was really high, so I hesitated for a little, but I made up my mind that I should do it. I accidently jumped the wrong way, nobody told me there's a certain way to jump. I landed on a sharp pointy rock, thankfully I only hit my toe on the rock so there was only a little damage. We had our first wintry treat there, candy canes! Delicioso, the candy canes were good and reminded me that its still Christmas season. I showed Noah that if you flipped your candy cane over it was a "J" for Jesus, and if you flipped it back again to a cane, it would look like a staff because God is our shepard. For our 3 o'clock snack (which is a normal snack time in the Bisht household) we had popcorn, we bought the popcorn from one of the vendors. For mom and dads snack, they had a coconut cocktail. It was a coconut with a little opening on the top where they put in the alcohol, they mixed all the coconut water from the coconut with the alcohol and there you have it, a cocktail. Anyway, mom and dad got their drink from a vendor too. Soon after we got our popcorn, it started to poor rain, we stayed under a little tarp for a little to stay covered but the rain started to get heavier and heavier so we moved to an area where you could sit down on a seat or relax in a hammock. Me and my three brothers, had a little fight over where to sit on the one open hammock, but don't worry, its normal. When the rain stopped, we were on our way out of the sheltered area. On our way out, we saw a man carving rocks into mini sculptures with a knife and a special tool. When we finished watching the man carve the stone we went to the water. At the water we discovered a rope swing/dive competition into the water, well it wasn't exactly a competition, it was more of a show off your skills event. There were no judges so it wasn't judged. There was a really good jumper who did a double flip off of the dock in all his clothes, even a hat! I've noticed that it's normal for Nicaraguan's to just go swimming with regular clothes on. It was fun to watch everybody jump, some people just jumped normally, some did canonballs, and a few did flips. On our way out of the pool area we met a girl that spoke English, I forget what her name was but my parents talked with her and we talked to her. The same guy who dropped us off at Ojo de Agua came and picked us up, and we drove home.
