I know its been a long time but I'm getting more into school and its great. Not as easy as in the beginning but I'm hanging in there. There is so much i want to do. There is so much that I am doing and I must remind myself of that. Asian Relgions is my favorite class so far. Least favorite would be Ideology of Social Change of Japan because its a course where a prerequisite in sociology would be helpful.
I'm very happy here. I'm less stressed out. I haven't used my medication much at all. Maybe once or twice. I'm sleeping more. I'm reading more outside of school; in my free time. I'm learning; about things I was curious about and never had the time to find the answers. I've become quite interested in philosophy especially Greek philosophy and how it can be applied to many religious beliefs. The forming purpose and function of a soul (or breath) is peculiar to me.
I like my roommate. I don't think I have ever had as pleasant an experience with a roommate as this one. We laugh alot. We help each other out and keep the other in order. We have our seperate lives but we don't mind going out or shopping together.
I am taking part in my activities now. I start tai chi tomorrow and I, along with a few other students, are starting the first ever lgbt support group and club. I think, ironically, we are calling it Out and About (which is the same name as the one at GV). I'm going to Kyoto soon but through discounts that the naval base provides. My friend's cousin is a doctor and delta in the US Navy. She is also an usher for the theater on the base so we get hook ups to the movies there. She allows my friend and I to come by whenever and use her place as a getaway retreat from the urban society and civilization of Tokyo. She has tons of books and I find myself wanting to sit there and read and read and read all day, and all night into the next day.
The exchange rate is dreadful right now. 100 yen is $1.08 or $1.88 cents in America. Not good. Well I need to get back to studying. I promise to write soon this weekend.
Talk to you later!
