Today we were supposed to be going to dehorn some more rhino, but another one of the giraffes we captured had died. So the vet had to go and help remove it. So we ran out of time to do rhino so we ended up just having a relaxed day. It was nice. I managed to get my blog all up to date which is good!

We didn't have any vet stuff to do today, so we rented a car and drove to white river to a shopping centre with lots of little craft type shops. It was pretty cute. Then we went to watch transformers 3 at the cinema in Nelspruit. It felt strange to be in such a normal environment again!! Not long now until I'm home...!

Another full day. This morning we went to the lab to sort out what we needed to dart 7 waterbuck, then mass capture 20 more waterbuck and 10 zebra. Busy day again today. This morning we went to some disease free buffalo which had been tested for TB last week but needed to be checked for the result. We couldn't really do anything to help as we had been in a foot and mouth zone with the giraffe so had to stay away from the buffalo to prevent any chance of passing it on. This morning we left at 6am to go and capture more giraffe. We were supposed to do 10 today, but they had difficulty finding then and it wasn't economically a good idea to spend money using the helicopter to look for them as giraffe aren't very valuable. So we just did 4. I helped to take blood. Hopefully I will get better at that! Then this afternoon we went to dehorn some white rhino.
