We did mass capture again today, but this time we were on the curtains. We had to wait for the second siren of the helicopter to go off before we ran with the curtains to trap in the animals. We did mass capture of 29 zebras today. Using the boma we set up yesterday the helicopter chases the herd in towards effectively a funnel to the truck. Then curtains have to be pulled across to trap them into a smaller and smaller space all the way up to the truck. Zebra are pretty dangerous so we couldn't pull the curtains but instead laid on top of the truck watching then come. Another hectic day with the film crew. This morning we tested 17 buffalo for TB. usually this is a fairly routine process but it was a bit manic today as it was new for most people. I definitely used up a lot of energy. This afternoon we went to help build the capture boma for the mass capture of 20 zebra tomorrow.

Today we only dehorned one rhino but it took the whole day because a tv crew from Germany filming for a series "Galileo" were filming it all. They will be here for the next couple of days.

Today we visited a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Nelspruit. It is actually another ACE project called Khulula. We looked at a honey badger which had been caught in a snare and hit by a car and was paraplegic. We had to give it fluids by injection. Hopefully it will regain it's motor skills but who knows. We also got to go in with 3 lion cubs. 2 of them white lions. They were very sweet. It's a nice place there, I miss Moholoholo!
