This is the life.........
For two of the family our second full day in Tahoe was a relaxing affair. A chance to catch up on homework, blogs and emails, not to mention the family washing! It also gave son no.1 the chance to make up some sleep hours. He has suffered more with teenage sleep patterns than no.2 son who can still wake early without turning into a bear but needs to hibernate by ten in the evening or he transforms too.
Our day off also gave me a chance to get stuck into the book i didn't have time to read for my last club book meeting. I now have 40 days to read three books, so I need to get some serious downtime soon.
Hubbie and no.2 son had set off early to explore the nearby ski resort of Kirkwood which the locals had recommended as being more extreme.
They returned earlier in the afternoon than expected with big smiles, numerous stories of bearded men and one strapped up thumb. An injury which occurs all too often for son no.1 thanks to his passion for freestyle skiing. We have learnt to be prepared and now carry a handy reel of strapping in our mountain first aid kit just in case.
Their unexpected return was not a disaster though as the shop were still open for some emergency shopping to buy hubbbie a helmet and hit the supermarket to buy fresh supplies of giant sized steaks, ribs and spicy chicken wings which would hopefully last us the next few days.
