We have no excuses for not having written our blog over the last couple of days other than we've been having a huge amout of fun!!
On Monday we visited two dive sites, Blackies Hole and Killer Pillars. Apparently, both are new and we can confirm they are both wonderful.
Blackies Hole consisted of a plateau and a short swim through which opened out into a beautiful expanse of white sand with dunes. A rather friendly grouper, who we named Gregory, spent most of the dive swimming with us. The hard and soft corals are stunning and our photographs do not do it justice. We're both very novice with the cameras, which I think is obvious. Thank you for the tips on white balance.
Surprisingly, Killer Pillars was even more beautiful than Blackies Hole. Again, this shallower dive commenced with a plateau, which decended to a sandy bottom. We followed the wall around and were lucky enough to see a balloon fish, amongst a wealth of other sea life. What an odd little creature this is. Such a cute face, yet not particularly attractive! Or in B's words 'what an ugly little b***** this one is!!'... very erudite, B!!
It was a pleaure to dive with so many good divers and not be responsible for somebody who has just completed their OW.
We then headed back to the hotel and thought an afternoon by the pool was just the right level of celebration to commemorate two stunning dives. After three cocktails, a good read and lots of sunshine, we struggled back to our suite to wash and changed for dinner.
My, what a hectic and tiring day it was!!!!
Off diving now, so will tell you about Tuesday later. Have a good day at work y'all!! (Oh no, I'm beginning to sound like the Texan we have diving with us... OMG what a complete and utter bore... he had a thorn in his thumb (to be said a la 'Gump, Forrest Gump'), you know...?
