I had my interview at the recruitment agency after doing my last journal update and it took much longer than I thought so didn't get a chance to come back to the net place! The interview was much more proper than I thought it would be - they asked me questions like - what would you do if a child fell from a climbing frame, and what would be the main hazards you would look for a try and prevent in a child care centre, and what toys to toddlers play with, and loads more like that! She just fired them at me one after the other, and I think I mostly answered them well, but a few not brilliantly and she told me what you woull probably do instead! But they have put me on the books anyway, and said they will call me as soon as anything comes up - may be in the city centre or may need to get a train or tram. Had a slide show/chat training thing afterwards saying what they expect from us when we work in the centres and what kind of work we will be doing. It sounds like it would be really fun, its' mostly supervising the children and helping set things up and tidy away and also help put them down for an afternoon nap! But there would always be lots of other staff around, I wouldn't have loads of responsibility which is good! But they said that most of the centres close over xmas and new year, and reopen on 15th which isn't great, but they reckon that they will most probably be able to get me Monday to Friday work from that date, so heres' hoping! I am thinking if the hostel job is pretty good I will ask to give up Thursday nights and Tuesdays at the pizza place, or may leave altogether anyway, and its was so awful last Thurs and Fri - just so quiet and time went on forever and the horrid boss doesnt even let us talk even though there is nothing to do! And the people aren't that good to talk to anyway so really wasn't good! Luckily last Sat was nice and busy though! But also, my friend Ana from New Zealand that I met in my last hostel is going back home on 22nd and she works in a nice sandwich bar 12 - 8 usually so that sounds much better, so will try and work there instead! But whatever the case, at least I have work, so am saving up money for the rest of my travels which I can't wait for! Am hoping to hire a car for a week with my housemate Ben and hopefully others that want to come in mid Feb and explore Victoria (the state I am in) as there are some really nice mountains and the great ocean road which are all meant to be fab! Then will begin my Oz experience tour and do that all through March then finish it (for the time being) in Brisbane/Gold Coast towards the end of March, then Andy is coming over for the whole of April so will hopefully buy a car and go off walking and beaching and such like!!! Then will def need to work again! Am going to end this postcard and start a new one as very paranoid it will decide to disappear otherwise!
