Goughie and Gater: le tour!!
¡hola!
still in la paz-doing some voluntary work for the red cross at the moment. went on tues to help pack bags of supplies to send to families affected by the floods. was hard work but good fun. we got to try a local dish for lunch complete with black dried potato-mixed feelings on that one! we had a 3 year old volunteer helping us called minlenka who could actually carry the bags better than we could! 6am start tomorrow delivering the bags so an early night for us. we'll probably not need our 5am alarm being as our dorm has been invaded by 6 noisy messy irish girls who insist on waking us up when they come in drunk. we're actually enjoying making lots of noise at 7.30am when we have to get up-sarah purposefully left her alarm going this morning in revenge!
Last night we headed off to the cinema to see pirates of the carribean at "the best cinema in bolivia" only to find that we had walked into the superman premiere. we decided to purchase tickets anyway even though it was in spanish and placed ourselves in the popcorn queue. suddenly claire had a microphone thrust in her face and looked down to see a cheesy gimp like tv presenter with incredibly spikey hair, massive shades and the smallest ever feet inquiring whether she thought superman was fit. when faced with a negative response he tried a few more tricks and then moved on to interview the more eager bolivians. yes that's right we will be starring on the national news. sarah was mortified and went a lovely shade of red!
if anyone happens to be watching some dodgy south american tv station look out for us!
