This week has flown by! I pretty much have a schedule I'm use to now, and I know people so I think that helps. I still get very home sick though :( I know, I know "you're in Spain!" blah blah. Just sayin. I miss home.
This weekend is kinda crazy because it is like mardi gras + halloween, but not really. Everyone dresses up. My host family was spongebob, buzzlight year, and an astronaut. I didn't dress up because, well, I don't understand this holiday and I'm not up for paying for more than one costume a year.
Lluc and I are getting along very well. Mainly because I have an app on my phone I use to bribe him. Didac is a baby, so its not difficult...except he bumps his head on everything, I'm pretty sure on purpose. The family is still perplexed about my eating habits. Now I hate eating in from of them because I feel like when I do a narrator, in hybrid australian-british accent, should be saying things like..."ahhh the elusive Laura emerges from her cave, a rare sight indeed, to attempt at a meal. We musnt make any sudden movements..."
My two closest friends here are two german girls who are cool except when they forget I don't speak german. Hah. I met them from Kingsbrook classes, which are going well. Although I don't think I will ever be fluent in Spanish :( I also met some other American au pairs, and I definitly don't think I should complain about my family ever again...some of them have awful families! and mine really are great.
ps
already missing american food.

Kathryn Zehani People give me a lot of guff about my eating habits too. But try to step outside your usual, it's such a wonderful experience ! Enjoy that sweet bumpy headed baby ! I'm grateful to God you have a nice family. K
Caitlin aka BFF Hahaha! That was an awesome impression of a wildlife show narrator. You should definitely look into that as a career. :) I'm glad to hear you're making friends and having fun. Try to enjoy your time and not get too homesick. :) I miss you terribly and I can't wait to hear all the fun stories once you get back. Love you!
