Lastnight after dinner on the terrace we read the girls all the messages from home in a I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here stylee! An early night was then in order for all.
This morning we got up & had breakfast before heading into the village with Abdul to the original Women's Association. There the older girls & women were baking Ramaddam biscuits & were kind enough to let us help kneed, roll & shape the dough. These biscuits were then fried before coating them in honey and sesame seeds. The baked goods are sold to local hotels & cafes in order to provide income for the association. Half the girls stayed downstairs helping to make more biscuits the rest of us moved upstairs to another room where some of the younger members had been learning French & we begun teaching the crafts we had prepared. The wire & bead bracelets were a hit as well as the drawstring coin purses; before long the women were sewing together across the body bags as well!!
Before heading back to the Kasbah at 3pm for a late lunch we asked Abdul to translate the screen printing technique having had a frame knocked together that morning in the village. Unfortunately we have been unable to find any textile inks or dyes since arriving but hope to use any monies left to buy and send these once we are home.
After lunch we took a short walk to a waterfall where the girls could paddle & cool off before heading back to catch up on our journals, some reading & shower/pack before dinner this evening.
Tomorrow we move from the Kasbah to Discover's other hotel in the village, Dar Imlil however, we hope to still have internet. We will then spend the day painting the new Women's Association's building.
