I woke up and had some breakfast at the hostel, and then set out to explore the city. I caught the metro to Santa Lucia and walked right to the top of the hill. There's an awesome castle and a lookout from the top and you can see alot of the city. I then crossed the road to a neat little market selling really odd things like shoes made of cloth and alot of copper. It was such a hot day I can't believe it's winter here! I wandered into the main plaza which was really beautiful, and then bought some delicious fruit at a market before heading back to the cool refuge of the hostel.

Later on in the evening, I jumped back on the metro to meet up with Cris to go to a BBQ with his friends. Beforehand we went to his house and had dinner with his family who were all really fluent in English which saved my arse from trying to communicate in Spanish. We had a pisco and coke and then headed to the party. Everyone seemed really nice, but my Spanish is so terrible most of what they were saying went right over my head and I sat there looking like a kook. Afterwards we headed out to see Cris's mates band 'The Returns' play at an indie bar in Bella Vista. They sounded alot like The Strokes and were really really good. Was great to have the ins with the band so I had a good chat with some of them. It was then that time of the night to get filthy hotdogs on our way home to bed!
