It was a sad goodbye to our friends in the other group this morning, we were all feeling a bit sorry for ourselves after too many sexy llama b****es last night. We hopped on a bus to head to Potosi, which Shirley missed because she was faffing around at breakfast, who knows when we'll see her again!
The bus ride was only 4 hours, just enough time for a kip. Feeling fully refreshed, we pulled into Potosi in second gear (the bus couldn't go into any higher gears!) and caught a taxi to our hostel. We got the special 'suite' which had a lounge and a kitchen, what a novelty!
Manda took us around the township of Potosi which was not nearly as impressive as La Paz, but for a mining town it wasn't half bad. We checked out the local market where I was to buy the ingredients for our first home cooked meal in ages. We then wandered around the main plaza and saw the mayors office that the miners tried to blow up with dynamite as part of one of their many protests due to their horrific working conditions in the Potosi mine.
Manda ended up cooking us dinner, spag bol and hot garlic bread...mean. And dont forget the Bolivian red wine which was surprisingly tasty. Then we retired for an early night in preparation for the Potosi mine tomorrow.
