Bus station - Siem Reap:
If your hostel has bus station pick-up included - do it! I didn't know what time the bus was arriving so didn't. There was a flock of tuk tuk drivers all ready to take you in to town. They will all try and convince you to let them be your guide at the temples the next day. I was weak and gave in! But it did mean my trip into town was free! (Although I did give him a dollar anyway). If you don't want a tuk tuk for the day - be strong. Or get your hostel to pick you up! Bikes and motors are also popular ways to get round the temples. If did it again I'd do it by bike.
Accommodation:
I stayed at Green Town guesthouse and I would not rush back. Very quiet. The staff didn't seem particularly eager to please and the bathroom was not great. Large dead fly on the floor wasn't a pretty sight! That said the dorm beds are good. But clearly the laundry service isn't. My towel was filthy and the bed sheet weren't in their first flush of youth with loads of cigarette burn holes. Food was OK and the beer was 50c.
