There's been some excitement here in the last few days because as you may or maynot have heard there was a hurricane threat heading this way! Thankfully it didn't come anywhere near us, so no drama.
I'm still in the middle of training week, so there's only staff here still at the moment. The kids arrive on Sunday and then all hell breaks loose.
I'm still adjusting to all the cool and freaky bugs they have out here. One of the guys caught a mini scorpion in the rec-room yesterday, and you constantly have to watch your step so as not to tread on a frog or a gecko. I took myself off on another trek of discovery around the grounds earlier, and while half of me was facinated by all the jumping, flying, scuttling things, the other half of me was completely paranoid about every little thing that brushed by my leg. We were all utterly freaked out by one of the trainers today. He was telling us horror stories of spider bites, ticks, snake attacks and hideous things called chiggers that burrow under your skin and make a cozy home for themselves - nice!
Just now I'm not long out the pool. We had a night time pool party which was tops, and now everyone's just chilling out doing their own thing. It's gonna be a shock to the system when the campers arrive because we pretty much have to work 24/7. We get two hours off a day and every other weekend. So I'm going to head off now and make the most of my free time while I have it! x x x
