Well finally touched down in Auckland after a grueling 20 hours of journeying with no sleep (I just cant sleep on planes - the air is too dry!)
Landed at 5 am and headed straight to hostel. Fortunately it is smack bam in the middle of town so went for a walk to check the place out. In the end I took a tour bus and jumped off at each stop which proved surprisingly effective.
Aukland Museum actually is surprisingly very good! Found the details of what NZ contributed during WW2 very interesting. Also def worth a seeing was the Kelly taunton underwater aquarium experience. I have been to a lot of aquariums in my time but this one was so well put together and different enough to make it stand out. Also interesting this was the first aquarium in the world to pioneer a walk through tunnel of the aquarium in 1985. Wow goes to show you NZ'ers are really very clever well or they just have too much time on their hands.
Also paid a visit to the Sky tower ( tallest building in the Southern hemisphere). Good top tackle my vertigo!
To polish the day off I had a butter chicken with rice and naan for $10 (about GBP3) and a freshly made apple and kiwi juice ($5). May go out for beer now!
