Day 1 is now under our belts, hills and all! We did well in spite of a few wrong turns wending our way through Bellingham. A warning to other touring cyclists - don't take the Interurban Trail through Bellingham unless you have a desire for torture. We discovered that unless you have a mountain bike it isn't a lot of fun. We abandoned that route and just went down Chuckanut Drive. Some people told us this was a dangerous and narrow highway but we had no problems ...
