Great day, after a bad nights sleep. It was so hot last night, alcohol didnt help ande full off cold, is that Asian flu. !!!!
So I was up late,as commented, it was 10ish which is late for me, as Im usually early for breakfast. Done my washing changed my bed and got in general little jobs done, as you do in all walks of life. Difference is here its all dry within couple of hours. Didnt have to go out to school till 12.30, but as it happens ended up an hour late, thats Cambodian time for you.
The ride on the tuktuk was interesting as we were on dirty dusty roads for about 30mins going through villages passing water buffalo, horses pigs, chickens, cows any sort of farm animal you can think of, they were either in the peoples front rooms !!!! or just ambling by the road side, or making an effort to reproduce, to hot thats what they looked like !!!
We had to pass over a river, it looked a bit scary to start with as he just plunged in, but it was like the top of a dam. You can see when it rains loads how these villages get cut off.
Turning up at the school, as we like to call it out here. More like a shed with a roof on, with the animals moving amongst us. The Cambodian teacher made us very welcome and we had to introduce ourselves,he teaches them English and although they are very good feel it is a little parrot fashion. Saying that there was 115 children in this class & he had perfect control. Break time was a barrage of questions, as much as they could try and ask, about our families etc. Then we had games with them skipping etc for approx 30 mins before they went back to class.
We were given little gifts from them pictures picked flowers etc, which was really sweet as they have nothing but would share with you what they have. Makes you feel very humble. Then the trip back which was great as had a breeze it was baking.
Have found out also about another voluntary project called Choice Cambodia if anyone wants to goggle it, am going to go on Sunday as it starts in the city. Lorries or vans take you out with supplies to the rural villages that have no running water electric etc. So that will be an eye opener.
Have been trying to load a few little videos for you to see, but my itouch is not allowing it which is a shame.
Well shower for me before dinner, then a quite night in, hopefully.
The one thing I miss sadly, is a cup of tea, you can get it but milk is mostly condensed, or doesnt taste like home, so I drink it black. Something to look forward to, as well as you guys of course. Love me . xx
