Ken's feeling a lot better and that sure does change one's perspective. The poor view of the Lake mentioned yesterday has now disappeared as a problem simply because the clouds in the other direction lifted this morning and right behind us (well, probably 25 klm as the crow flies) stand Annapurna IV & II.
If we go up onto the roof we can see Annapurna South (7219metres), Annapurna I (8091 metres), Machhapuchre (6997), Annapurna III (7555 metres), Annapurna IV (7525 metres) and Annapurna II (7937 metres). Yes, they should be arranged numerically shouldn't they.
Unfortunately, photo's taken with modern digital cameras seem to me to distort the perspective and make the mountains look farther away than they are when you stand here looking directly at them.
It doesn't matter to Ken of course because he looked at them from Annapurna Base Camp in 1993.
We went for a walk along the Lake today and found our old Hotel from 1991 - Hotel Fewa - amazingly it's still operating and has been done up quite a bit, actually a huge amount.
Maybe tomorrow morning, stomach problems allowing, we'll whip up to Sarangkot for even better views.
Sometime soon we will also hunt down "Bullet Base Camp" - a bar run by an Australian that is devoted to all things beer and Enfield Bullets. Apparently if you own an RE you get a discount and we're always keen on that.
This has taken me close to an hour to write with help from Ken and I am exhausted.
Om Mani Padme Hum.
