The Adventures Of Fletch
1st Dec - 7th Dec
Right, Adam and I said fairwell to our new buddies in fiji and flew to Brisbane. i spoke to Matt+Chelle and they said they were in Byron Bay so they reserved us a room for a couple of days so we headed down to meet them. It was good to see them after so long and we settled in to lots of beer drinking at our hostel called the Arts Factory. It was a bit of a pot head paradise with everyone falling about stoned, but it was a nice place. Had a mooch around the town which was really nice and checked the beach out. First night we went out for a few to watch Arsenal v Tottenham. Matt is an arsenal fan and this other lad Ben is a Yiddo. It all went quiet on his side after the arse won 3-0, but by then we were all wrecked, so good fun. Chilled for the next day as it was raining so did'nt get up to much, so we sorted ourselves out a route down to coffs harbour.
We set off for coffs on the 4th. Coffs is a nice place and our hostel is right on the beach. We got chatting to a few people next door who were from london and joined in the pool comp that evening at the bar. 3 of us said that if we one it we'd split the winnings between us which was advertised as $100. Matt and I went out in the 2nd round but the other guy Jared ended up winning it. Strangely enough he only got $60 but split it with us anyway, so not bad for a nights work. Also got chatting to a couple of lovely girls Kat and Emma, who I recognised from getting on and off buses at the same time as me all the way up the coast. It worked out well as later on that night I had to remove a massive huntsman spider from their shower. I just about managed to get it in a large coffee mug, but not before I had to chase it round the room which isn't easy as the bloody thing jumps. It can have a bite as well apparently!!. The following day Matt, chelle, adzey and I went to the beach for some body bording and sun worship which was good, and in the evening we all sat outside our chalet rooms chatting with everyone and had a few sherberts. Our last day here saw us 4, Kat and Emma go to the big banana plantation and did some luging down a steep track which was cool. We spent the day there mincing about before Kat, Emma, Adzey and I made our way down to Port Maquarie on the bus. Matt+Chelle stayed behind and I will be meeting up with them when they breeze into Sydney and we head off to the blue mountains.
Port Maquarie was alright. Quite a small place, but the hostel was run by a moody fat Ozzie bloke who seemed to have a problem with us for some reason, he was a bit of a prat. We were only there for one night so we didn't really care. We all got quite pissed the first evening playing cards and generally mucking about so all was good. We were moving on to sydney on the 7th but our bus was not until 6pm. We had all day to kill and we had to out of our hostel by 1pm. In the morning all 4 of us went and checked out the Koala hospital where all the mullered Koalas go for treatment for dog attacks, fire damage and if they've been hit by cars. Quite interesting. We then got matey at the hostel to sling us out at the transport station where we managed to get them to hold our bags until 4pm. We strolled down to the harbour front and sat on the grass playing cards when two large dolphins swam passed which was pretty cool. Apprently they get quite a few of them there. On the way back from the harbour Adzey and I nicked a couple of shopping trolleys so we could put our massive backpacks in them and push them up to the pub so we could sink a couple until the bus came, which was quite amusing. Adzey somehow managed to throw up on the bus as well but this was due to the fact he'd eaten 10 burgers in 2 days than to too much beer!!
Anyway we roared into Sydney about 12:30am and checked into wakeup which was to be home for the next month.
Cheers
Fletch
