Team Perth have crashed into Western Australia at last. It?s a gorgeous place and the weathers great. The first place we stayed in is called Planet Inn in Northbridge where all the nightlife is. It?s a right tip, and am surprised its still standing!!. We had to go check out the Sunday session which is pretty famous over here in WA, so went to Cottesloe to get pissed. I expected a few people sitting in the bar getting on it, but there was about 300 people there getting smashed. Brilliant. The bar at the Cott hotel is great. It looks out to the beach with huge open windows where you can stand and watch the sun go down over the ocean with a beer in your hand.Nice.

My old friends Matt+Chelle arrived in Perth on the 21st so caught up with them again. We all went out on their last night as they were only staying for a couple of days before heading to asia. We went for a few with Dan and Lou who were with us over xmas and Ben who we met in Byron. It was agood night and got quite smashed. Said our goodbyes and I won?t run into them again until I?m back in the UK, so they are probably quite pleasd about that.

We managed to all get out of that hole we are staying in on the 23rd and checked into the OBH backpackers on the beach at cottesloe. Gorgeous place and 1 min from the ocean. We spent the next few weeks soaking up the sun and playing around in the surf, body surfing and body boarding etc. Beautiful place. Unfortunately I managed to get myself stung by a jelly fish not once but twice across the back which really hurt. I was in quite a bit of bother for a bit and had to stand in the shower while the fellas threw vinegar over me, much to their amusement.b******s!!.

11th of March was my birthday and Petes was on the 10th so we had a big birthday weekend by basically drinking as much as possible. Unfortunately we ended up having words with a huge ponytail wearing idiot from Manchester in the evening, after he took it upon himself to start on me and Pete who were having a chat on another table. After we manged to get rid of him I dared Pete to get some scissors and cut mateys tail off. Much to my surprise and his, Pete actually snuck up behind him and started to cut it off. Needless to say it all went off and we were asked to leave the hostel at the end of the week. Woops!!. However that has to be the funniest thing I have seen since I?ve been away. Bloody brilliant.

I started work on the 13th working in the IT department at a place called Mainroads. They look after all the roads and highways in WA. It?s a nice place overlooking the swan river and the WACA cricket ground, and the teams are good people. It?s a bit different from what I?m doing back home as the company is huge, with sites all over WA, which is the size of about 13 UK?s. Anyway that pretty much means my fun during the week is no more so have been restricted to going out to play at weekends. I need to save as much as possible for when I head over to NZ anyway so its not too bad. We moved to a hostel called Billabong at the end of the week were we?ll be staying for the next few weeks. Its quite nice, with a pool and is a short walk to the pubs and the city, and not too much of a mission to get into work. Whilst I was here I met up with my mate Ben who I met in Byron and went for a few beers. He said there was a room going in the house share where he is living, so I went and checked it out. It?s a real nice place. There is about 5 people downstairs, and 4 up including me. We have our own bathroom, bedroom with TV,TV+DVD in the lounge, and our own kitchen. I took the room and moved in on the 2nd of April. It takes me about 15mins on the bus to get to work which is nothing, but it can be a bit of a mission going out in the evening, which is a good thing as sometimes you can?t be arsed so you can just sit in with a few of the guys and watch telly or something.
Now that I?m working and am settling here until 15th June when my contra runs out, I haven?t been up to much. The only thing I have done was go on a surf camp over the easter weekend for 3 days, which was awesome. I spent the first day getting to grips with it and after my 3rd go I stood up and pretty much kept standing up from then on. They bumped me up to the top boy group on the second day so was riding the big waves out past breaks and into the beach. Managed to stay on a few of them although most of the time was spent getting dumped as you go so fast when you catch them. Brilliant fun though, and definitely something I?m going to do again.
